Uniqlo is a Japanese clothing brand that expanded to the United States in 2005. The company realized that American customers were taller and bigger than their Japanese counterparts, and they adjusted their sizing accordingly. Uniqlo also incorporated brighter colours and trendier designs into their American stores to appeal to the fashion-forward American market. These cultural adaptations helped Uniqlo establish itself in the competitive American clothing market.

5. McDonald’s in Israel

McDonald’s has adapted its menu to fit cultural norms in various countries, but it has gone above and beyond in Israel. Israel has a significant population of observant Jews who follow dietary laws known as Kashrut. To respect these dietary laws, McDonald’s locations in Israel are completely Kosher. This means the restaurants do not serve any meat or dairy products together and only serve meat that has been slaughtered a particular way. Despite the limitations, McDonald’s has been successful in Israel and has even introduced unique menu items, such as the McShawarma – a pita sandwich filled with chicken or beef, salad, and tahini sauce.
