Intelligence Operations
In 1985, the 93rd Intelligence Squadron was designated as a Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron and was tasked with gathering intelligence from the frontlines. During Operation Desert Shield in 1991, the squadron’s Intelligence officers were crucial in providing up to date information on enemy troop movements, which proved crucial to the success of the operation.

The 93rd played a significant role in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, where they provided intelligence support to Special Forces units. Their intelligence reports played a crucial role in capturing Saddam Hussein.

Present Day
Today, the 93rd Intelligence Squadron is part of the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, stationed at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. Their primary mission is to provide actionable intelligence to ground troops, which can help them maneuver in various tactical situations.
