In 1993, he was elected to the Delhi Legislative Assembly and served as State Minister of Health and Family Welfare. He was also the President of Delhi Medical Association from 1994 to 1995.

Minister of Health: Achievements and Vision

Harsh Vardhan was appointed as India’s Minister of Health and Family Welfare in May 2014. He served in this position until November 2014 and then took over as Minister of Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and Environment, Forest and Climate Change. In May 2019, he was reappointed as India’s Minister of Health and Family Welfare.

Under his leadership, India launched several key initiatives such as the National Health Mission and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. He also played an instrumental role in India’s fight against COVID-19, including encouraging people to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
