Combat Intelligence is the secret weapon in XCOM 2 that players can use to their advantage. It can make or break your strategy, and that is why it is essential to understand how it works and how to use it to your advantage.

The concept of Combat Intelligence in XCOM 2 refers to the information gathered about the enemy during missions and how it can be used to gain an edge in subsequent battles. Essentially, you get a better idea of what the enemy has in store for you and can prepare accordingly.

There are three stages of Combat Intelligence – Basic, Advanced, and Network – and each stage unlocks new benefits. The Basic level is attained by completing the first few missions, and it allows you to see individual enemy health bars and how much damage they can dish out.

The Advanced level is unlocked by gathering more information about the enemy during missions. At this level, you can see the location of enemy groups before engaging with them, giving you an opportunity to plan the attack accordingly.

The Network level is the highest level of Combat Intelligence and is unlocked after establishing contact with resistance factions throughout the game. This level allows you to see the types of enemies you’ll face, their strengths and weaknesses, and even their abilities.

Combat Intelligence is crucial in determining which soldiers to bring to a mission, what equipment to equip them with, and how to approach the mission. Having this knowledge at your disposal can make the difference between victory and defeat.

One example of how Combat Intelligence can alter your strategy is with the enemy known as the Andromedon. With Basic Combat Intelligence, you will only see the Andromedon’s armor, making it more challenging to determine the best course of action. However, with Advanced Combat Intelligence or Network level, you’ll see that the Andromedon has two forms – an armored form that is immune to almost all types of damage and a humanoid form that is vulnerable to attacks.

In summary, Combat Intelligence is the key to winning battles in XCOM 2. It provides valuable information about enemies, allowing players to prepare for battles more effectively and make more informed decisions. Pursuing higher levels of Combat Intelligence should be a top priority for players to ensure success on the battlefield.
